Apple's big iPhone reveal event just got it own reveal: The livestreamed video presentation is scheduled to broadcast on September 14 at 1 pm ET.
The event, which Apple dubbed "California Streaming," is expected to be the big debut for the next iPhone. Additionally, updates to Apple's Watch and iPad could show up during the presentation.
Apple traditionally hosts an event every September at its Cupertino, California, headquarters, where it debuts new iPhone models and other product updates.
Due to the pandemic, Apple turned its stage presentation into a digital livestream starting in 2020. That continues in 2021.
Apple is expected to debut a new line of iPhones that will look and feel much like the current models.
Of the updates expected for this year's iPhones, the one with the biggest visual impact is the potential loss of the front-facing camera notch.
If Apple-produced show "Ted Lasso" is any predictor of Apple's next moves, the notch is coming off: On a late August episode, Apple superfans spotted what looks to be an iPhone an edge-to-edge screen .
Other major feature updates may include emergency satellite connectivity, for getting help in emergencies without phone service, and the latest versions of Apple's top-of-the-line camera and chip technology.
If history is any indication, the new iPhone models will be available by late September or early October. Apple has yet to officially announce the name, price, or release date for what is expected to be called the iPhone 13.
