"They could have been Donald Trump's hard drives," Rudy Giuliani said on the Fox News show after his office and apartment were raided by the FBI.

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani said that he could have destroyed evidence seized by the FBI "years ago," during an appearance on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on Thursday.

On Wednesday, federal investigators raided Giuliani's office and New York City apartment, seizing electronics, in an investigation related to the former New York mayor's dealings with Ukraine while serving as Trump's personal attorney.

"At about six o'clock in the morning, there was a big bang, bang, bang on the door," Giuliani said to Carlson. Giuliani said agents were professional and took seven or eight electronic items and two that did not belong to him.

Yesterday, Giuliani issued a statement through his attorney Robert J. Costello that said that he was targeted because of a "corrupt double standard," alleging that investigators "left behind the only electronics that contain evidence of crimes, the Hunter Biden hard drives," which Giuliani had offered up "several occasions."

"They could have been Donald Trump's hard drives," Giuliani said.

Search warrants often limited in scope to what is relevant to the investigation, former FBI director Andrew McCabe said on CNN , about why the alleged Hunter Biden hard drives may not have been taken.

"I could have destroyed evidence years ago. I've had it for two years, and I haven't destroyed it," Rudy said, alleging he was suspicious of the raid's timing and making the case for his cooperation and innocence.

Giuliani claimed his dealings with Ukraine solely had to do with proving Trump's innocence related to Russia and finding wrongdoing by Hunter Biden in Ukraine.

"They won't explain to me what they're looking into for two years," Giuliani said. "I've never represented a Ukrainian national while with the US government."
